How do you get your market and sales data?
Market and sales data on the League of Comic Geeks is primarily community-driven. Members help submit and moderate sales history to ensure accuracy with complete transparency. Like other aspects of our platform, this ensures availability to all League members free. Should a comic not currently display sales data, this is due to it missing sales data submitted by the community.
How are the Estimated Values calculated?
We calculate estimated values by pulling the past 90 days of value data for a particular grade and then determine the average. Should these consider outliers and other factors? Possibly. We welcome your feedback.
What does the line chart represent?
The line chart displayed represents each grade's average sale by month, for the past several months. This aims to help you identify trends.
How can I submit sales data?
From any comic page you will see a Contributions menu at the top, open this menu and click Submit Sale Data. From here, simply fill out the form in accordance with our Sales & Market Data guidelines.
Requirements for Sales Data:
- Must be a completed sale of a single comic. No lots, bundles, etc.
- Grades are not permitted for Raw comics. This is too subjective.
- If the sale cannot be verified, it does not belong in our database.
- Signed comics are not included as they are outliers.
- eBay "Best Offer Accepted" with final offer prices unknown are not permitted.
- USD sales are all that is permitted at this time to avoid currency exchange variances.
- Reprint sales must be associated to their specific variant listing, not the main cover.
What does the Verified status mean for sales history?
All submitted sales data is unverified until another member verifies it. Should the initial submission end up being fraudulent or incorrect, it can be flagged as such.
How do I verify sales data?
Simply click on the verified icon or the caret/arrow to view the details of the sale. From this page, you may select the Verified status to submit. At this time, only Contributor Rank 2 or higher members can flag sales data as incorrect, fraudulent, or verified.
This is done to prevent manipulation from new or fake accounts.
To earn points to reach Contributor Rank 2 or higher, you can submit new sales data or make contributions in other areas of League of Comic Geeks.
How do I report incorrect or fraudulent sales data?
Simply click on the verified icon or the caret/arrow to view the details of the sale. From this page, you may select the Incorrect or Fraudulent status to submit. At this time, only Contributor Rank 2 or higher members can flag sales data as incorrect, fraudulent, or verified. This is done to prevent manipulation from new or fake accounts. To earn points to reach Contributor Rank 2 or higher, you can submit new sales data or make contributions in other areas of League of Comic Geeks.
