Contribution Guidelines: Sales & Market Data

Market and sales data on the League of Comic Geeks is primarily community-driven. Members help submit and moderate sales history to ensure accuracy with complete transparency.

Requirements for Sales Data:
  • Must be a completed sale of a single comic. No lots, bundles, etc.
  • Grades are not permitted for Raw comics. This is too subjective.
  • Signed comics are not permitted in sales data. These are outliers.
  • Newsstand Editions should be with their respective variant in our database, not mixed with Direct.
  • If the sale cannot be verified, it does not belong in our database.
  • At this time, only eBay and Heritage auctions are permitted. More will be added in time.
  • eBay "Best Offer Accepted" with final offer prices unknown are not permitted.
  • USD sales are all that is permitted at this time to avoid currency exchange variances, unless the auction site provides this exchange.
  • Reprint sales must be associated to their specific variant listing, not the main cover.
Sales Data Field Guidelines:
We ask that all contributors follow these field guidelines when submitting data:
  • Auction URL:
    - Please use the official link to the item, no URL shorteners or category page links.
  • Sale Amount:
    - Do not include Shipping or other fees.
    - USD sales are all that is permitted at this time to avoid currency exchange variances.
    - eBay "Best Offer Accepted" with final offer prices unknown are not permitted.
  • Grade:
    - Raw/Unslabbed should be selected for anything not Slabbed.
    - Only official sources should be determining the Grading
How are points distributed for sales data contributions?
  • Initial submission of a completed sale is worth 3 points to the Submitter
  • Review (verification or flagging) of a submitted contribution is worth 2 points to the Reviewer
  • If the sales data is verified, the initial Submitter receives an additional 2 points
  • If the sales data is incorrect or fraudulent, the initial Submitter receives a penalty of 10 points
  • At certain (hidden) thresholds, these penalties begin to multiply to thwart abuse - eventually resulting in a ban from contributions or potentially account suspension
