How do Subscriptions work?

Subscribing to a comic book series will automatically add upcoming issues to your Pull List. When an issue is added to the community-driven database, the issue will display in your Pull List for its release week. If you're connected to a local comic book store through League of Comic Geeks, subscriptions ensure your store orders enough copies ahead of time.

To subscribe to a series:
- On the website, go to any Series page and then click the Pull Series button.
- In the mobile app, go to any Series page and then tap the Pull Series button within the Subscription tab. Alternatively, you can Subscribe & Pull Series from any Add Comic menu.

You can set format preferences for your subscription, ensuring it only pulls specific formats for you. For example, you can set it to subscribe to only Trade Paperbacks from the series moving forward. Additionally, you can set the number of copies you'd like to add to your Pull List. This helps to remind you of the amount of copies for each specific issue you want to pick up.

To modify your subscription:
- On the website, go to the Pull List Subscriptions page in your profile.
- In the mobile app, tap Subscriptions on the Releases tab.

When modifying a subscription for a series, you can adjust the quantities for each release type, such as Regular Issues, Annuals, Digital Chapters, TPs, HCs, and Variants.

When it comes to Variant Covers, availability is often a concern especially when you're sharing your pull list with a local comic store. We have broken down the Variant Cover types into five options:
  • Open Order Variants: These are distributed to most comic stores, and can generally be ordered at any quantity without availability concerns.
  • Incentive Variants: These are distributed to most comic stores, but the store must reach a certain threshold to get one of these covers for their customers. As such, they are in limited supply and some stores may not have these available. We recommend speaking with your local comic store before requesting these.
  • Reprint Variants: These are distributed to most comic stores, but are often released later and sometimes at a lower cost.
  • Facsimile Variants: Similar to Reprints, these are rarely released and generally years later.
  • All Other Variants: Select this option if you want to pull Retailer Exclusives, Event Exclusives or any other variant not listed above. These are unlikely to be available from your local comic store.
